It is undeniable that recently
facts in some countries visualize the
small number of pupils learning science
subject. This issue is led by two core reasons and has several impacts on people social life.
In terms of cause, an assumption
saying that science is difficult course might be the first possible reason. Due
to the study conducted by several scientists in the US, it is revealed that
science is the most intricate subject to study amongst others. Studying
scientific field like chemistry, physics, and astronomy becomes hard as it
is too emotionally and physically demanding course, especially for cognitive
skills, which forces students to do analyses and interpretation, even it in
turn has them stay a whole day in laboratory . As a consequence of this
phenomenon, this belief encourages
people’s reluctance to learn science in schools. Time by time, this opinion
spreads widely, increases insecurity, and make people assume that only intelligent
human being can apply for this subject. Unfortunately, this becomes inherent.
Another prospective cause is the
circumstances which might not be science-oriented. The researchers also believe
that preference on specific subject can be heritable so that If someone did not live in the area
surrounded by scientific atmosphere such as watching scientific TV program
regularly and carrying out severe experiments, it would lead them out of
science. This issue is then responsible for the lack number of scientist. In this
case, most will be more tempted to study for what they are familiar with such
as history, art, media, and humanity, while science as the equally crucial
knowledge is left far behind. In the end, the possibility to result in new
scientists would slightly disappear.
In conclusion, science is not the
popular subject at schools due to its difficulties, which lead to reluctance in
society, and its unpopularity in
surroundings, which could worsen the quantity of science experts.
